Clint Eastwood’s multi-million dollar fortune that he has accumulated since his box office reign in the 60s has got nothing on his eight children. The Western actor has already lived a salacious life beyond the Hollywood studios lot and Sergio Leone’s Italian sets. And despite the scandals and tabloid rumors that circle Eastwood and his multiple affairs and children, the gun-slinger has proven to be quite the father to his children, one of who grew up to become a relatively well-known actor in his own right.

Scott Eastwood Recounts Clint Eastwood’s Fatherly Values

Despite being one of the most famous film stars produced by Hollywood, Clint Eastwood has had a very secretive life, and in time, fathered 8 children with 6 women. Scott Eastwood, his son with stewardess Jacelyn Reeves, was born in 1986, and his daughter Kathryn 2 years later. At the time of their birth, the actor was in a relationship with Sondra Locke and as such, did not appear in the birth documents of the two Reeves children.

However, as Scott Eastwood (who earlier went by Scott Reeves) later went on to recall, his father was neither absent nor complacent throughout his childhood and made sure they grew up as a family, despite never seeking legal custody. As revealed in a GQ interview, when he was 16, Scott Eastwood had arrived at a party with his then-14-year-old sister, Kathryn, and left early “maybe to get a beer with the guys.” As he would soon learn that night, the Eastwoods always stick together.

I left her and I didn’t think about it at the time. Later, Dad found out that I’d left her there. He popped me and said, ‘You don’t ever leave your sister at a party. EVER.’ And it was very old-school, very old-school of him. If you did something wrong, you were going to get punished. I learnt quickly – you don’t do that.

In time, Scott Eastwood followed in his father’s footsteps to gain notable traction in Hollywood by starring in big-budget action movies and growing into a spitting image of his Western star father. But throughout it all, the Eastwood siblings – all 8 of them – did end up sticking close to each other.

Scott Eastwood Ascends in Hollywood Sans Handouts

As the patriarch of Spaghetti Westerns, Eastwood has hardly had any reservations about branching out into discursive genres of filming and with each of his grand conquests – be it as director, actor, or producer. And despite his ever-growing wealth and net worth, Clint Eastwood has always been one to advocate strongly against handouts and freebies. Throughout his life up to the mid-2000s, Scott Eastwood remained largely incognito and unknown to the mass media.

In the late Aughts, the young actor slowly began his rise in Hollywood, appearing in small inconsequential roles in his father’s films, like Gran Torino and Invictus, and later graduating to bigger, more central roles in films like Pacific Rim: Uprising, The Longest Ride, Fury, and the Fast and Furious franchise. Eastwood Jr. has also joined the cast of Wind River: The Next Chapter, the anticipated sequel to Taylor Sheridan’s chilling saga starring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen, Wind River that premiered in 2017.
