Even as he embraces his older years, Sylvester Stallone maintains a preference for executing his own action stunts. In a candid revelation to ET Canada, the acclaimed actor confessed to undertaking his own sequences in his films. However, while performing dangerous stunts, there are times when Stallone has suffered injuries.

Throughout his career as an action star, Sylvester Stallone has endured numerous injuries, fearlessly pushing his physical limits in pursuit of top-notch performances. The demanding nature of his roles has left the renowned Rocky star with permanent scars as souvenirs. However, rather than concealing these battle scars, Stallone has chosen to transform them into art by adorning many of his marks with meaningful tattoos.

Sylvester Stallone Covered His Injuries By Getting Wife’s Tattoo

Owing to his dedication to performing stunts and prioritizing authenticity, Sylvester Stallone has acquired a significant number of noticeable scars. In fact, these scars became so prominent that the actor decided to use tattoos as a means to conceal them, adding a personal touch to his unique journey through his body art.

“The tattoos are real – unfortunately,” Stallone said, according to Contact Music. “I have all kinds of chest injuries; I tore my vein during Rocky II and had 60 stitches. If you’ve seen Rocky Balboa, you’ll know how bad they look. It got worse and worse, and people were saying, ‘Urgh, has he got varicose veins?’ So I thought, ‘f**k it,’ and covered them with a tattoo of my wife.”

Subsequently, the tattoos appeared to take on a life of their own, gradually enveloping more of the Judge Dredd star’s body. Stallone remarked, “Then the tattoo started to grow and it went to a skull and before I knew it, I was a mural,” Stallone said.

Among the actor’s most severe injuries occurred during the filming of Rocky IV, a now-classic movie where Stallone’s character faced off against Dolph Lundgren’s Ivan Drago. However, off-camera, an unintentionally forceful punch from Lundgren resulted in such a devastating blow that it left Stallone hospitalized for several days.

One Of Sylvester Stallone’s Tattoos Could’ve Backfired

In 2022, Sylvester Stallone’s wife, model Jennifer Flavin, filed for a divorce. However, they made the mutual decision to reevaluate their marriage just a month later. According to a spokesperson for Sylvester Stallone, the couple chose to meet in the comfort of their home, where they successfully worked through their “differences.”

As per media reports, the couple is now “extremely happy” with their decision to call off the divorce and recommit to their marriage. Just a few days after the actor shared a nostalgic throwback picture of himself and his wife on his Instagram account, the couple announced their decision to reconcile.

Later, Florida Judge Darren Shull issued an order, temporarily suspending the divorce proceedings. Granting them additional time to explore the possibility of rekindling their bond, the judge’s decision further hinted at the potential reconciliation.
