Does Ava Jerome have a friend or foe?

The General Hospital recap for Thursday, November 30, 2023, features Ava getting a huge clue about who killed Austin.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

Also in this episode, Nina called Michael’s bluff, James played Mr. Fixit, and Molly finally broke down in Kristina’s arms. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.

Just A Little Friendly Mail

Over at Wyndemere, Ava (Maura West) barely had time to get in the door and grab a drink before Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) showed up. He had questions, of course, and Ava played the game. She made him explain that Austin (Roger Howarth) was shot twice and was dead.

She didn’t even feign shock before listing off her own host of suspects, which included (but was not limited to) Maxie. She then worked to cover her own tracks. She had an alibi but no proof. She had cameras showing Austin leaving through the front but no footage showing her leaving as well. Uh-oh!

Later, once alone, Ava went through the mail and found a letter addressed to her. She opened the envelope to find a picture of a dead Austin and a note saying “You’re welcome.”

Family Problems

Speaking of Maxie (Kirsten Storms), she was treated to James playing foreman to Cody’s (Josh Bell) handyman. First, James talked Cody into building Georgie’s desk and then fixing the snack cupboard. The rest of his list included other home repairs and even a treehouse but Maxie squashed those requests.

James had a bit of a meltdown over the denial of letting Cody spend the night. It’s not fair he’s the only boy in the house! Even the turtles are girls! He wished Cody was his brother. As Cody was leaving, Felicia (Kristina Wagner) flashed to Cody outright denying Mac (John J. York) was his dad.

Having an equally rough day was Michael (Chad Duell). He was summoned to The Metro Court by his dad only to be dragged to a table with Sonny (Maurice Benard) AND Nina (Cynthia Watros). Sonny wanted to arrange family time, namely Christmas Eve. He wanted his family with him for the night.

Before the conversation could get too deep, Sonny was called over by Dex (Evan Hofer). He had a message from Pikeman. Sonny was to get ahold of him right away.

Over at the table, Michael accused Nina of using Sonny to get to Willow and the kids. Nina reminded him they are family and Sonny would always want to see his family. Michael then threatened to expose her. Nina practically dared him to. She’s already given enough. She wasn’t about to bend to his will anymore.

Parenting Advice

Meanwhile, Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Kristina (Kate Mansi) sat down for a talk about Scout. Specifically, Scout’s schooling. Kristina had high praise for Westwood Academy, where she went, but pointed out that Scout’s feelings mattered too. If the kiddo didn’t want to swap schools, why make her?

Sam was apprehensive about forcing a change but she did want to let Drew (Cameron Mathison) be a dad. However, she did not love his new forceful attitude of commanding instead of asking. After Kristina left, Sam also shared her concerns with Dante.

When it came to parenting choices, TJ (Tajh Bellow) and Molly (Kristen Vaganos) each tried to work out what to do next. For TJ, that meant talking to Portia (Brook Kerr). She encouraged him to dive right back into the surrogate search. Time waits for no one, after all.

For Molly, it was a visit with Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Amelia that got her mojo going. Willow shared her own story of losing her child, choosing pregnancy over chemo, and raising Wiley. She didn’t regret a thing.

Molly took a moment to sit with her feelings and go through her file. She broke down crying on the bench — which is where Kristina found her.
