New Trailer For A Haunting In Venice Features Yellowstone’s Kelly Reilly

A Haunting in Venice, the third in Kenneth Branagh’s Agatha Christie trilogy, has just released a frightening new trailer.

Like Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile, this film sees Branagh direct and star as Hercule Poirot. It also features a star-studded cast. This time, we’ve got Everything Everywhere All at Once’s Michelle Yeoh and Yellowstone’s Kelly Reilly, plus Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey and more.

Unlike the first two films, however, this one eschews the slightly camp nature and leans into horror, as Fey’s Ariadne Oliver calls Poirot in to investigate a supposed psychic, played by Yeoh, at a séance.

Reilly’s character, Rowena Drake, attends the séance in hopes of contacting her late daughter. The new trailer teases a ghost seemingly taking over the body of Yeoh’s character, who speaks to Rowena in what’s apparently her daughter’s voice.

But after the séance fit with all your typical flickering lights and windows blowing open, there is — you guessed it — a death.

Things then descend into plenty of jump scares and a creepy child appearing and disappearing.

Poirot is adamant that there must be a logical explanation for all of this, while everyone else is convinced that there’s something supernatural behind the events — and that the detective can’t deal with the fact that there’s something even he can’t explain.

But is the moustachioed one in the right?

Branagh previously said of the film: “This is a fantastic development of the character Hercule Poirot, as well as the Agatha Christie franchise.

“Based on a complex, little-known tale of mystery set at Halloween in a pictorially ravishing city, it is an amazing opportunity for us, as filmmakers, and we are relishing the chance to deliver something truly spine-chilling for our loyal movie audiences.”

A Haunting in Venice will be released in cinemas on September 15. The previous two films are available to stream now on Disney+.
